Opalesque Exclusive: Potomac` Select Series III Fund hits its stride, returns est. 13.28% in Q1 Potomac Select LLC published an estimated 13.28% return for QTR1 2008 today for its Series III Fund, and trailing 12-month returns of 22.31% through March 31, setting it apart from equity and hedge fund investing over the periods.

Potomac Portfolios LLC launched the Potomac Select Fund in July 2006 to access a diverse group of alpha-oriented commodity trading advisors and forex managers that trade the U.S. and international cash and derivatives markets for currencies, interest rates, stock indices, energies, metals, and agricultural products.

“We’ve hit our stride,” said Thomas Lott, Potomac’s President. “QTR1 and trailing performance has been driven solidly by trading in the commodity sectors as a general flight from equities, surging product demand, and a piling on by the investing public provided ideal conditions for global macro and spread trading,” said Lott. “Potomac’s mantra of aggregating alpha advisors that are focused on exploiting unique market phenomena across all sectors has gone far to generate increasingly superior returns and to contain downside volatility during this especially volatile period brought on by the credit crisis,” he added. Potomac Portfolios has been managing alternative investment programs for institutions, hedge funds, hedge fund of funds, and family offices since 1997.
