Opalesque Exclusive: BlackRock to launch a Middle East and North Africa hedge fund An industry source told Opalesque that BlackRock’s investment team in London will soon launch a hedge fund focused on opportunities in the Middle-East and North Africa.

Sam Vecht will manage the fund together with Alain Bourrier and Plamen Monovski. The launch’s AUM is unknown. The Fund will invests in regional markets that are still very inefficient, where long-term growth is dramatically undervalued and volatility is an opportunity as it provides better entry/exit points. It will invest long in approximately 20 names and short to hedge or generate return. The fund will be domiciled in Cayman and will offer USD and EUR hedged share classes.

Geneva-based Delman SA launches 100/30 fund Delman SA, a Geneva based company specialising in the creation and the delegation of managed funds launches the “DM Swiss Equity Asymmetric Fund”. The fund, managed under Swiss law and classified ‘Fonds Traditionnel’ by the Swiss ‘Commission Fédérale des Banques’ provides investors with dynamic exposure of the Swiss equity market via its unique 100/30 structure.
