First wholly Africa dedicated hedge fund Scipion African Opportunities` A share class returns +0.98% in first month

Mr. Clavel, of Scipion Capital, sent the following report to investors: 'August saw the first month of our Class A shares which finished the month at +0.98%. Our activity in Class A remains totally unaffected by the current turmoil in the markets as we are dealing with actual goods, mostly agricultural for which demand does not depend on the state of the equity or mortgage markets. We have now a strong pipeline of transactions across the continent with a good cross-section of products and are increasing our fund raising efforts.'
