Hedge fund Rising Stars revisited – Jennifer Coffey`s concentrated multi-strategy and pure activist FoFs

From Benedicte Gravrand, Geneva: Jennifer Coffey is responsible for managing the investment team and the hedge fund portfolio at New York-based-HRJ Capital, where she introduced investment and risk management processes, built a database for manager monitoring and created a formal DD process. She has 12 years of hedge fund experience including 7 years as co-head of Long/Short equity investment in Credit Suisse’ fund of funds group. She also co-authored two books with her father in the late 1990s: ‘Time Bomb 2000’ and ‘The Y2K Financial Survival Guide’ on investment strategies in market downturn.

The June edition of Institutional Investor News drew up a list of the 20 ‘up-and-coming executives from around the world who are likely to impact the global hedge fund and alternative investment industry’; the rising stars in hedge funds (Full article). Mrs. Coffey was one of them. “I am delighted,” she said. “I know a lot of the people on the list. I have been in the business for a long time and put a big effort into developing a real career in the hedge fund industry and I was proud to get recognition for it.” Mrs. Coffey gave Opalesque an overview of her funds of hedge funds.
