Sandra L Manzke joins QAM boards as independent director, Stonebrook Capital adds general counsel

Opalesque Exclusive: Sandra L Manzke joins QAM boards as independent director Quant Asset Management (QAM) in Singapore announced Sandra L. Manzke, CEO and Founder of Maxam Capital has joined the board of the QAM Asian Equities Fund and the QAM Global Equities Fund as an independent director.

QAM noted “We are very proud that Sandra has accepted this role. She brings a wealth of experience that will be beneficial to the investors in our funds. Sandra is one of the leading people in the hedge fund industry and with her help in overseeing both our funds we feel that we have substantially improved our corporate governance.”

Sandra Manzke founded MAXAM Capital in April 2005. Prior to that, Sandra was the founder and CEO of Tremont Capital Management. She was responsible for the oversight of Tremont's operations and the development of Tremont's business plan. She was also a member of the Investment Advisory Board. Sandra oversaw the creation and sale of Tremont's life insurance products, which were the first to use hedge fund investments.

Says QAM: “It is our ambition to grow QAM into a reputable player in the quantitative investment arena and to create more market awareness for computer managed funds. QAM’s approach is entirely systematic and computer driven. We want to prove that intelligent computer models can easily compete with human fund managers.”

Since inception in April 2004 each fund has returned around 30% annualized. ......................
