SilverStreak India multi-strategy fund up 65% since October launch From Benedicte Gravrand, Geneva: SilverStreak Asset Management’s Indiamax Growth Fund is a multi-class open-ended India dedicated investment fund, domiciled in Mauritius, which asset class is mainly listed equities. It longs and shorts India equities. Since its launch in October 2006, it has returned 65% (to May 07).

Whilst the investment managers are in Mauritius, the investment advisory bureau is in India. Mrs. Chandan Desai, director, whom Opalesque talked to, is based in Mumbai. She does the ground work and gathers information pertaining to India, observing the market, making recommendations.

One of the leading and niche brokerage firm in India 'Keynote Capitals Ltd' serves as the 'Investment Advisor' of the firm and the fund has been able to show impressive performance due to timely recommendations of the Investment Advisors.

The fund’s objective is to preserve capital and provide absolute capital appreciation, through a blend of long term strategic positions and short term tactical positions; identification of catalysts that will bring cause convergence of price; and underlying value and the capitalisation on the emerging secular bull markets in India.
