Opalesque Exclusive: Harbert Management Corporation launches Harbert Merger Arbitrage and Event Driven Fund Harbert Management Corporation is pleased to introduce its latest absolute return strategy – Harbert Merger Arbitrage and Event Driven Fund. The Fund’s investment team includes Neil Kennedy, Senior Managing Director and portfolio manager, and John Frank, Director of Investments.

Mr. Kennedy has over 20 years of merger arbitrage and event driven investing experience. Most recently, Mr. Kennedy was with Hamilton Investment Management LLC (HIM) where he served as managing member and co-head of the firm’s risk arbitrage strategy. Prior to HIM, Mr. Kennedy was the co-head of risk arbitrage at Hamilton Partners LTD. Previously, he served as executive director in the risk arbitrage and special situations group at Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC) and O’Connor & Associates. Prior to that, Mr. Kennedy was an options market maker on the floor of the American Stock Exchange. He is a graduate of the State University of New York (New Paltz).

Mr. Frank has six years of experience as a buy-side analyst. Before joining Harbert, Mr. Frank was a senior analyst at Charter Management, a New York-based merger arbitrage and event driven fund. Mr. Frank has a BA in Finance from the University of Iowa.
