GLG head of marketing poached by Jabre Capital Partners From the FT: The long-standing head of marketing at GLG Partners, London’s biggest hedge fund, has been poached by GLG’s former star trader Philippe Jabre for his new venture. Mark Cecil, who worked with Mr Jabre for 10 years at GLG, will become a partner at Geneva-based Jabre Capital Partners, which started trading last month with about $1bn under management. Source

UBS investment banking co-head to leave, may join hedge fund From Bloomberg) -- Jeffrey McDermott said he's leaving UBS AG, Europe's largest lender by assets, as co-head of investment banking to look for a different job and may consider working at a hedge fund. “I'd like to talk to some of the smartest people in the industry and see where there are opportunities,'' McDermott, 48, said in an interview. ``The evolution of the hedge-fund industry is very interesting to me and I would like to see if there's some way I could contribute value to their activities.''

McDermott, who joined UBS six years ago from Salomon Smith Barney and works in New York, was one of three co-heads of investment banking….Full article: Source
