Opalesque Exclusive: Olympia Capital, Credit Suisse launch 4X fund and CFO on flagship FoF with 16y track record The Olympia Equity Tranche Synthetic CFO (collateralized fund obligation) is offered in conjunction with Credit Suisse and is designed for investors seeking equity-like returns within a controlled risk environment. The synthetic CFO is a 4X levered investment in Olympia Star I Fund, Olympia’s flagship fund of hedge funds product. Pro-forma performance using actual returns for Olympia Star I, since inception in February 1991, produces an attractive alternative to equities as the Fund returned 30.58% p.a. versus 7.25% for the MSCI World.

The product is available from this month as a Credit Suisse Fund (in USD) or Credit Suisse Certificates (in USD or EUR). Both vehicles offer a five year investment with a monthly secondary market. Olympia pointed out that its flagship fund has had no negative years and no negative 12 month period over the past 16 years. Annualized net returns are 11.18% since inception. Olympia Star I Fund, a diversified fund of hedge funds, returned 10.10% in 2006 and in currently open to new investments. Source
