Mixed results at Vega, after asset drop of almost 40% money started to flow back in Q4

The core Vega funds suffered its first negative year in its nine year old history ranging from -1.5% (Vega Global) to -9.25% (Vega Select). Since the funds hit their maximum draw down in June 2005, they have both come back, with the Global Fund showing six consecutive positive months and the Vega Select being positive for five of the last six months.

The seeding platform, Vega Plus, had a strong year across all eight strategies:

  • Linnaeus (global macro) 28.83%
  • Nile (equity L/S), 28.53%
  • SVP Restructuring (distressed), 17.22%
  • Modus (fixed income arbitrage – long volatility), 10.67%
  • SVP Credit Opps. (credit long/short), 9.97% ......................
