Hedge Fund Association tackles cybersecurity threat, elects new officers and adds chapters across the globe

The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) is addressing the threat of cybersecruity as the nonprofit trade and nonpartisan lobbying organization serving the alternative investment industry has announced the creation of a cybersecurity committee.

The move came as the HFA also declared a changing of the guards within the organization with the election of hedge fund manager George Schultze to succeed attorney Ron Geffner as vice president. In a statement, HFA’s board of directors has also appointed several new regional directors, added chapters in the U.S. and abroad, and launched a new cybersecurity committee.

"As HFA celebrates our 20th Anniversary it is an honor to announce these outstanding additions to our volunteer leadership team, strengthening our mission on behalf of investors, managers and service providers. We take great pride in fostering development and trust, while addressing misperceptions and educating the media, lawmakers and the public at large," said Mitch Ackles, HFA’s President.
