Hedge funds post second best monthly performance of 2013 in October -eVestment

October was the second best month of 2013 for hedge funds, who recorded average returns of 1.5% for the month and 7.1% for the year, according to the latest hedge fund performance data from eVestment. eturns were driven by equity exposure and supported by the continued decline in U.S. Treasury rates following their peak in September. Emerging markets also started to show hints of growth over the month.

In terms of strategies, Long/short equity funds remain on track to post their best year since 2009 and second best since 2006 when they returned 26.7% and 15.3%, respectively. Credit funds, whic......................
