Goldman Sachs eyes sale of its hedge fund administration unit

Bailey McCann, Opalesque New York: US-based Goldman Sachs is In talks to sell its hedge fund administration unit to another US firm - State Street according to individuals with knowledge of the matter. Terms of the deal are not yet known, Bloomberg is reporting that the sale is like a move to lessen the firm's regulatory burden as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) increases its scrutiny of the hedge fund industry.
