Massachusetts regulator Galvin denied motion to dismiss civil case brought against him by Bulldog’s Phil Goldstein

All eyes in the hedge fund industry may be on the Galleon court case unfolding in the federal courts of Manhattan, but another, long standing hedge fund legal battle has been playing out for years in the Massachusetts’ court system. In its current form this fight pits Bulldog Investments’ Phil Goldstein against Massachusetts State regulator William Galvin in civil court, and Opalesque has learned that the Bulldog team finally scored a few important points this week.
