Opalesque Exclusive: Eli Combs joins Alden Global as MD Eli Combs has left his position as Managing Director and head of Business Development at Eos Partners a $3bn + NY based investment manager. He has joined Alden Global Capital as a Managing Director. Alden Global Capital is a recently formed investment manager focused on Emerging Markets, specifically India, MENA, Russia and Canada. Their first fund open to outside investors will be an India focused hedge fund, seeded with over $300mm in capital. Alden Global had offices in 5 countries.

Beeson named COO at hedge fund Citadel Citadel Investment Group, L.L.C. announced that Gerald Beeson has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the firm effective February 1. Beeson joined Citadel in 1993 and most recently served as Chief Financial Officer.

As COO, Beeson will oversee a number of Citadel’s businesses, including Citadel Alternative Asset Management (CAAM), Citadel’s fund of hedge funds business; Citadel Solutions, Citadel’s hedge fund administration business; and Citadel’s reinsurance investments. He will also be responsible for key corporate functions, including Treasury, Finance, Human Capital Development, Marketing, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications… Full press release: Source
