Profiles - The Adamah Diversified Sectors Program and the Heard Opportunity Fund

 

Adamah Capital to stay on course with its various strategies Carlton J. Chin George R. Parr

Carlton Chin, portfolio manager and one of the founders of commodity trading advisor Adamah Capital is staying on course with his various investment strategies, while at the same time trying to raise risk-adjusted performance incrementally through research in facing the different market challenges. Chin said in an interview with Opalesque:

"Our Short-Term Program continues to outperform, and we see some potential signs that the slump for managed futures trend-followers may be ending."

Adamah's Diversified Sectors Program has been struggling this year but it was up +1.2% in May (-5.7% YTD).

The program and other programs managed by Adamah Capital are currently featured in Opalesque Solutions' Emerging Managers Database.

Adamah has several investment programs, including a Diversified Managed Futures Program, a Global Macro Program and a Short-Term Program.  But like many other longer-term trend-followers, the firm's Diversified Managed Futures program has been treading water, Chin said.

Adamah Capital applies Computer Aided Research & Advanced Technology, or CARAT, to trade quantitative alternative investment strategies. CARAT was developed by Chin who used to be an actuary, an engineer, and a quantitative researcher.
