CFA Institute releases 2020 GIPS standards

Thursday, July 04, 2019
Opalesque Industry Update - The CFA Institute has released the 2020 edition of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) set to take effect on 1 January 2020.

This marks an important milestone in the evolution of the GIPS standards to ensure their relevance for all asset classes and asset managers.

The updated GIPS standards are based on industry best practice and input received during the public comment period. The changes empower more investment managers and asset owners to embrace investment performance transparency and industry-wide comparability.

The 2020 GIPS standards include chapters for each of the three key audiences:

GIPS Standards for Asset Owners

GIPS Standards for Firms

GIPS Standards for Verifiers

With the issuance of the 2020 GIPS standards, the online presence for the GIPS standards is moving from www.gipstandards.org to the CFA Institute website.
