Greenwich Global Hedge Fund Index gains 0.84% in June (+2.71% YTD)

Opalesque Industry Update - Greenwich Alternative Investments reported the June results for its Global Hedge Fund Index and sub-strategies. The Greenwich Global Hedge Fund Index gained 0.84% in June and is up 2.71% for 2012. Other highlights:

  • Most hedge fund strategies report gains in June
  • Long-Short Equity funds lead all strategies, gaining 1.52%
  • Arbitrage funds maintain strong record for the year, gaining 1.37% in June
  • Futures managers reverse previous month’s gains, losing 2.23% on average

The Greenwich Global Hedge Fund Index is one of the oldest benchmarks of the hedge fund universe. Full Strategy and Regional results for June will be available in mid-July, once additional funds have submitted returns.
