The field of Islamic Economics could be considered as the older sibling of
Islamic Finance. Due to its theoretical nature it is often focused on the
abstract, but that is not to say that it lacks vibrancy, color, or relevance. In
fact there are various forces that are shaping this field from within and we
present here a short list of papers that will be introductory to some but also
highlight some of the current trends in Islamic Economics:
