'Alternative Alternatives' investment funds up 0.05% in August (-0.57% YTD)

'Alternative Alternatives' investment funds returned a flat performance on average in August 2013, according to an estimation based on 504 single and multi-manager funds currently listed in 23 categories in Opalesque Solutions’ A SQUARE Fund Database.

The Opalesque A SQUARE Index gained 0.05% last month and was down -0.57% year to date (YTD). The A SQUARE Funds of Funds Index gained 0.2%, its first positive month since January, and was down 1.73% for the year.

Meanwhile, the Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index went down 0.33% in August (+3.16% YTD), and the MSCI World Index was down 2.09% (gross) and up 11.34% YTD.
