Sussex Partners expands its presence in Japan

Wednesday, February 08, 2023
Opalesque Industry Update - Sussex Partners, a global investment advisory firm that specialises in hedge funds and alternative investment asset classes, has appointed Kanji Kikuchi as a Partner to support the firm's outreach in the Japanese market. Sussex Partners has been engaged with Japan since the firm's inception in 2003 and is a strong supporter of local market hedge funds and the alpha opportunity they represent.

Kikuchi joins Sussex Partners from Credit Suisse Securities in Tokyo where he was Head of Fund Solutions for the firm's private banking clients. Prior to Credit Suisse, Kikuchi worked in alternative investment sales and structured solutions at Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas and, earlier, at Mizuho Securities in Tokyo. He brings to Sussex Partners close to 30 years' experience of the Japan investments market.

Patrick Ghali, Managing Partner of Sussex Partners, commented "Tokyo is home to so many sophisticated and forward-looking investing institutions. Kikuchi brings a wealth of local market experience and relationships to Sussex Partners, and we welcome the opportunity through him to extend and deepen our engagement with Japanese investors".

Sussex Partners is an independent global investment consultancy dedicated exclusively to advising clients on allocation to hedge funds and alternative investments. Sussex Partners adopts a highly discretionary approach and seeks to select only outstanding funds that can become long-term foundations of diversified portfolios. Sussex Partners advises institutional investors including pension funds, private banks, family offices and wealth managers. The firm will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.
