Infinity Capital Partners acquires Collins Capital fund of hedge funds portfolio

Thursday, January 25, 2018
Opalesque Industry Update - Infinity Capital Partners, an Atlanta-based alternative investment firm, today announced it has acquired the fund of hedge funds business of Miami-based Collins Capital. The transaction, which closed on December 29, 2017, underscores Infinity's long-term outlook for hedge fund solutions.

Founded in 2002, Infinity runs an alternative investment portfolio designed to serve a range of investors, including high-net worth individuals, family offices, wealth managers and institutional investors. Collins Capital has been led for the past two decades by the former Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch Dorothy Weaver. She has been named a senior advisor at Infinity.

"It's not often that two industry players encounter such close alignment between the fundamentals of our investment approach, manager allocation, due diligence process and investor base," said Jeff Vale, partner and CIO at Infinity. "We have great respect for Dorothy and the Collins team and believe their multi-strategy alternatives portfolio is a natural fit for our platform."

"Having spent the last two decades dedicated to growing Collins Capital, I am confident in this next step and excited for the combination of the platforms," added Ms. Weaver.

Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
