Pantheon brings on West and Clarkson

Wednesday, January 10, 2018
Opalesque Industry Update - Alex Wilmerding has been promoted to Partner at Pantheon. Alex joined Pantheon nine years ago and has demonstrated considerable commitment to both the investment and business development areas of our business. Based in Hong Kong, Alex is a member of the Asia investment team and has responsibility for client relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding South Korea. Promotions are effective January 1st, 2018.

Thirty-one professionals across the firm's teams and offices have been promoted, including Mark Etchin, Cullen Wilson, Calvert Bauer, Jack Farr, Welwin Lobo and Ali Sangari in our global investment team. Additionally, to reflect business expansion and their broadening roles, certain title changes have been implemented: Jinman Kim becomes Managing Director and Head of South Korea; Paul Jones becomes Chief Technology Officer. Ria Shah transfers from the RFP team to the Global Infrastructure & Real Assets team where she becomes Product Specialist.

"These promotions and title changes recognize the breadth and depth of talent we are proud to possess across Pantheon. The success of our firm and our clients depends on the commitment and dedication our professionals make every day and I congratulate everyone on their thoroughly deserved promotion. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for their support and enduring partnership, and the entire Pantheon team for their continued hard work as we look forward to a busy and productive 2018," said Paul Ward, Pantheon Managing Partner.

The firm has also made two senior appointments. David West joins Pantheon as Global Head of Operations from his previous position as Director and Head of Operations at Cardano and will report to Paul Ward. "We are delighted to be joined by David West who brings extensive experience of leading operations for asset management clients through his roles at Cardano, Brown Shipley and BNP Paribas Security Services. His relevant expertise will further enhance the robust operational framework we have built over our multi-year presence in the global markets. We look forward to introducing David to our clients," said Paul Ward.

Tom Clarkson joins as Principal in the U.S. Client Service team. Tom will be based in Austin, Texas, focused on Pantheon's U.S. institutional client markets. "I would like to extend a warm welcome to Tom, who is a seasoned professional and brings many years of client relationship management experience with him through senior roles at Dimensional Fund Advisors and Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners, subsequent to a 12-year career as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. He will further enhance our strong relationship management team here in the U.S." commented Susan Long McAndrews.
