Man Group and American Beacon launch new emerging debt fund

Opalesque Industry Update - American Beacon Advisors, an experienced provider of investment advisory services to institutional and retail markets, launched the American Beacon GLG Total Return Fund (Institutional Class: GLGIX, Investor Class: GLGPX) today. The Fund became effective May 20.

The American Beacon GLG Total Return Fund is managed in an absolute-return style focused predominately in fixed income instruments of issuers that are economically tied to emerging market countries. The Fund’s sub-advisor, GLG employs a primarily bottom-up and top-down investment process in which country credits, currencies and local rate curves are analyzed for relative value. Man GLG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Man Group plc (“Man Group”), is a discretionary investment manager offering absolute return and long-only funds across asset classes, sectors and geographies. The Fund’s portfolio manager, Guillermo Osses, has 24 years of experience in emerging markets fixed income investing.

In August 2014, American Beacon and Man Group launched the American Beacon AHL Managed Futures Strategy Fund (Institutional Class: AHLIX, Investor Class: AHLPX). Man AHL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Man Group, is a pioneer in systematic trading offering 100% systematic alternative and long strategies.
