Philip R. Henríquez joins LW Investment Management as CEO

Opalesque Industry Update - Mr. Carlos Zalles, founder of the boutique emerging markets investment group LWPartners, announced that Mr. Philip R. Henríquez has joined LW Investment Management Ltd. as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner as of March 1st, 2016. In this capacity, Philip will oversee asset management activities and look to grow the assets under management of the firm. He will also be responsible for the development of products designed to create investment vehicles in Venezuela.

"His extensive experience is another key asset for our group. His presence and expertise adds considerable depth to our management team." Mr. Henríquez commented, "I am very happy to be a part of the lwPartners Group of Companies and join LW Investment Management, a firm I have known and followed for many years. It brings together a top team of highly motivated executives and I am looking forward to contribute to its growth over the next several years."

Mr. Henríquez has 30 years of experience in the financial services sector having served as a top executive in various firms. He was a member of the Executive Committees for different companies of Mercantil Servicios Financieros as well as Global Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking. Other responsibilities included the Corporate, Institutional and Financial Institutions Banking Business in Latin America and the United States. Previous positions include Country Head for Mercantil Servicios Financieros in Panama, President of Merinvest, President of Citibank Venezuela, Citigroup Venezuela Corporate Country Officer, Global Wholesale Banking Executive Vice-President, member of the Board of Directors of Banco Venezuela - Grupo Santander, President of Valores Santander Casa de Bolsa, and Corporate Bank Manager of Banco Exterior.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Cerámica Carabobo and has been part of the Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Council for Investment Promotion CONAPRI, VenAmCham, Venezuelan Institute of Finance Executives (IVEF), Venezuelan Diabetic Foundation, National Banking Council of Venezuela, Caracas Stock Exchange and the National Art Gallery.

Mr. Henríquez received a degree in Economics from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and holds an MBA from Columbia University (New York, USA).
