SunGard launches Asset Arena Manager

Tuesday, November 29, 2011
Opalesque Industry Update - SunGard has launched Asset Arena Manager, an integrated investment management solution that provides front-to-middle office support to buy-side investment management firms. An integrated component of the Asset Arena suite that supports the entire trade lifecycle for asset managers, institutional investors, and traditional and alternative fund administrators, SunGard’s Asset Arena Manager incorporates real-time position-keeping, a customizable dashboard, broad instrument coverage including OTC derivatives and robust portfolio analysis and modeling tools. The solution is available on an ASP basis or installed on the customer’s servers. It also comprises a standalone Compliance component, which provides real-time compliance management, automated compliance workflows and centralized compliance monitoring.

Asset Arena Manager facilitates straight-through processing through a suite from which customers can pick and choose the elements they need to support every stage of the investment process, from portfolio construction and management, to valuation, order management, risk, pre-trade compliance, and client reporting.

Matt Samelson, principal at Woodbine Associates and author of the company’s recently-released report on order management systems, said, “An integrated investment management solution is absolutely desirable where possible and practical, given the complex work flow associated with benchmark tracking, order generation, execution, allocation, risk, and settlement. A single vendor, integrated solution can help manage those complexities and reduce the associated operational risk.”

“SunGard’s Asset Arena Manager was developed in close partnership with customers who are leading asset managers with complex global operations,” said Martin Boyd, president of SunGard’s asset management business. “Our customers told us they wanted a flexible solution for their investment management process that could be combined with any order management system (OMS), back office system, third party administrator or peripheral business specific application. The launch of Asset Arena Manager delivers that, with a new, improved user interface to the front and middle office that can be customized and accessed anytime, anywhere. Its use of real-time data helps reduce operational risk and enhances efficiency through better informed investment decisions.”
