Lyxor hedge fund index up 0.30% YTD despite negative May (-1.80%)

Opalesque Industry Update - As most other general hedge fund indices, the Lyxor Hedge Fund Index lost in May 2011 (-1.80%). But it is still - slightly - up YTD (0.30%). May, says Lyxor, was volatile and generally a bad month for all hedge fund strategies. The worst monthly performers were CTAs (-4.13% for Long Term and -3.40% for Short Term), global macro (-2.51%) and special sits strategies (-1.79%). The top performing ones YTD are the L/S equity market neutral (3.52%), merger arbitrage (3.02%) and L/S Equity Variable Bias (3%).

The Lyxor Hedge Fund indices are investable, asset-weighted indices.
