Opalesque Industry Update - The gross return of the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index for April 2016 measured 1.19%. Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index advanced 0.53% in May. “Hedge funds saw positive net flows this past month, according to SS&C GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index which gained 0.53% for May of 2016, compared to -1.18% in April. In terms of the year over year comparison, the 0.53% for May was down versus 0.86% for May of 2015, with both inflows and outflows coming in lower than a year ago,” said Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. “This is consistent with recent months’ net activity which has followed fairly normal seasonal patterns, but with generally lower levels of both inflows and outflows. The moderate flow activity suggests investors are keeping their hedge fund allocations fairly constant despite unsettled market conditions.” The SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index is an asset-weighted, independent monthly window on hedge fund performance. On the ninth business day of each month it provides a flash estimate of the gross aggregate performance of funds for which SS&C GlobeOp provides monthly administration services on the SS&C GlobeOp platform. Interim and final values, both gross and net, are provided in each of the two following months, respectively. Online data can be segmented by gross and net performance, and by time periods. The SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index is transparent, consistent in data processing, and free from selection or survivorship bias. Its inception date is January 1, 2006. |
