GoldPoint Partners appoints Sean D. Gelb as Chief Financial Officer

Opalesque Industry Update - Goldpoint Partners, a leading private equity manager based in New York and a private equity affiliate of New York Life Investments, announced today that Sean Gelb, CPA, has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Gelb will oversee the day-to-day accounting for the firm and its funds. Mr. Gelb has over 17 years of experience in financial services accounting and administration focusing primarily on alternative investments and in particular, private equity funds.

“We welcome Sean Gelb to GoldPoint Partners. His appointment is a strategic addition to our financial team and we look forward to the private equity financial expertise he brings,” said John Schumacher, chairman of Goldpoint Partners.

“I have a deep understanding of the alternatives space, especially private equity and I look forward to working with the talented team at GoldPoint,” said Mr. Gelb.

Mr. Gelb joins from Blackstone, where he was senior vice president of Private Equity Tactical Opportunities, Finance and Accounting. Previously, Mr. Gelb was a director at SS&C PEI Solutions, where he served as controller for private equity and venture capital fund structures, responsible for close to $10 billion in total assets under management. Prior to that, Mr. Gelb was a partner at Northport LLC (before the firm was acquired by SS&C PEI Solutions). In his earlier career, he held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Richard A. Eisner & Company.

Mr. Gelb received a BS in accounting from Binghamton University School of Management. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
