AIMA to hold inaugural Asia regional forum in Hong Kong

Wednesday, January 21, 2015
Opalesque Industry Update - The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the global hedge fund association, will be holding its inaugural Asia-Pacific regional forum this week in Hong Kong, on Thursday 22 January.

As AIMA's first regionally themed forum, "AIMA in Asia 2015: Advancing Asia's Perspective" brings together some of the key policy and regulatory figures, hedge fund managers and other thought leaders from Asia-Pacific; and delivers the same depth and recognized expertise that distinguishes the association¡¯s other flagship forums globally.

The event will be opened by Alexa Lam, Deputy CEO of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, and will feature a keynote interview with Charles Li, CEO of Hong Kong Exchange.

"AIMA in Asia 2015" will directly follow the "Asian Financial Forum 2015" (AFF), an annual event jointly organised by the Hong Kong government and Hong Kong Trade Development Council and serves as part of the Hong Kong International Financial Week.

Jack Inglis, AIMA CEO, said: "This forum is a sign of our continually increasing commitment to and support for the hedge fund sector in the Asia-Pacific region and I am personally very much looking forward to the agenda."

"The conference offers an important opportunity for the hedge fund industry to discuss policy and regulatory initiatives from and around the region, as well as some broader hedge fund related issues but from a uniquely Asian perspective," said Heide Heiden-Blunt, AIMA Head of Asia-Pacific. "We are delighted that our inaugural Asia-Pacific forum has received such strong support."

The main sponsors of the Forum are Clifford Chance, PwC and UBS, with support from a number of other firms.
