ABN AMRO offers investment funds an international podium

Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Opalesque Industry Update - The Amsterdam Investor Forum (AIF) offers alternative funds a podium to present themselves to a group of over 200 professional investors. As of today interested funds can apply and enter into the competition. On 11 February, the 6 shortlisted funds will have the floor for a 3 minute pitch during the conference, which takes place at ABN AMRO headquarters in Amsterdam.

Delegates, including a panel of asset allocators, will vote for the most convincing proposition and appoint the winner. The competition is open to all funds regardless of size, location, investment targets or style – active or prospective. Participants are required to register a submission via the event website by 31 December 2014. In 2013 more than 100 funds from all over the world entered the competition.

Opportunity to raise profile

“Participating fund managers see this as a unique opportunity to raise their profile with a diverse audience of investors, asset managers and asset allocators. We are looking for submissions which demonstrate real clarity in their investment proposition, as well as compelling entrepreneurship,” commented Gildas Le Treut, Global Head of Prime Clearing at ABN AMRO Clearing.

4th edition AIF

Among the professional investors attending the AIF are institutional parties, funds of funds and high net worth individuals. The event, organised by ABN AMRO Clearing with the support of the ABN AMRO Private Banking’s Alternatives & Funds team, has gained wide recognition as the leading alternative investment gathering in the Netherlands. In its 4th edition, the AIF will again deliver a line-up of prominent speakers and panellist that are active as fund managers, investors and allocators or as related professionals.

Strategic meeting place

“The Amsterdam Investor Forum is a strategic meeting place for institutional investors and alternative investment managers. The main focus is to provide a diversified audience with insights into the latest market developments in investment strategy and allocations. With a range of first class speakers, representing some of the greatest investment minds in the business, we want attendees to get a real feeling for where the investment opportunities are in 2015,” said Marc de Kloe, Head of Alternatives & Funds at ABN AMRO Private Banking.

Participation to the AIF conference is free of charge. Participants need to register through the AIF website. While registering, attendants are invited to make a donation to ‘Alternatives 4 Children’, an independent charitable foundation that supports sustainable projects and raises money for charities involved in improving the living standards of children.
