Newedge bolsters capital introduction & advisory teams in North America

Opalesque Industry Update - Newedge, a global leader in multi-asset brokerage and clearing, today announced three key appointments to its capital introduction and advisory teams as part of its overall commitment to enhance its prime brokerage offering in North America. These appointments, which are effective immediately, emphasize Newedge and parent bank Societe Generale’s goal of expanding its prime brokerage footprint, while offering clients a wider range of services across all asset classes.

“Societe Generale continues to make a significant investment in our prime brokerage capabilities, enabling us to provide clients with enhanced value-added services that will help them to grow and succeed,” said Duncan Crawford, Global Head of Alternative Investment Solutions at Newedge. “Hiring these three talented executives highlights our ambition to expand our world-class prime brokerage team and grow our presence in North America.”

The new appointments are as follows:

Daniel Rizzuto, CFA, has been appointed Head of Capital Introductions Americas. Mr. Rizzuto will be based in New York and be responsible for driving capital introduction activity within the region, which includes coverage of the East and West coasts, as well as in Chicago. He will report to Duncan Crawford. Mr. Rizzuto has over 25 years of experience in the alternative investment industry, having previously led product and business development at several prominent alternative investment managers, such as Estlander & Partners and Graham Capital Management. He brings expertise in both large and emerging hedge fund businesses and marketing them to institutional investors.

In addition, Samantha Rosenstock and Alex Skorniakov have been appointed Directors of the Advisory Group. They will also be based in New York and will report to James Skeggs, Global Head of Advisory Group at Newedge. The Advisory offering has a unique place in the industry, sitting alongside the Capital Introductions group they produce investor focused insight and analysis on a range of hedge fund strategies which is widely read and respected by the Hedge Fund Community. Ms. Rosenstock has extensive experience in the hedge fund space having worked on both the single, and multi manager sides of the industry. She joins from PineBridge Investments where she was Strategy Head of Global Macro, Quantitative, and Commodity Strategies.

Mr. Skorniakov has over 12 years of experience originating, managing and marketing investment strategies to sophisticated global investors. He joins from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he was a member of the hedge fund manager selection team, covering a broad range of alternative investment solutions.
