Campbell & Company hires Kathryn Kaminski PhD as Director, Investment Strategies

Opalesque Industry Update - Campbell & Company today announced that Kathryn (Katy) Kaminski, PhD will join the firm as Director, Investment Strategies, effective January 2, 2015. Mrs. Kaminski is currently Deputy Managing Director of the Institute for Financial Research, a research affiliate of the Stockholm School of Economics. Campbell & Company is an absolute return investment advisor specializing in systematic managed futures and equity market-neutral strategies.

With significant experience as a quantitative investment professional and a strong knowledge of managed futures, Mrs. Kaminski will help to define the broad goals and objectives of Campbell’s overall research efforts, lead and conduct hands-on proprietary research, act as a thought leader in research innovation, participate actively in the research peer review process, and have a significant role in Campbell’s white paper series.

In her role in academia, Mrs. Kaminski has been a lecturer at the Stockholm School of Economics and at MIT Sloan and has served as an investment research consultant on the advisory boards of several asset management firms. She co-authored the book, Trend Following with Managed Futures: The Search for Crisis Alpha. Over the years, she has written numerous thought pieces and provided commentary for the Eurex Group and the CME Group.

Prior to her role as Deputy Managing Director of the Institute for Financial Research, Mrs. Kaminski was a Senior Researcher at RPM Risk and Portfolio Management, a Stockholm-based fund-of-funds specializing in managed futures. She earned a PhD in operations research with a focus in finance at MIT and moved to Sweden to take a role in academia at the Stockholm School of Economics prior to joining RPM.
