Gallatin Advisers rebrands as PivotalPath, appoints Jonathan Caplis as chief operating officer

Tuesday, September 09, 2014
Opalesque Industry Update - Gallatin Advisers LLC, an independent hedge fund advisory firm, has changed its name to PivotalPath (Americas) LLC, which will operate under the brand name PivotalPath and appointed Jonathan Caplis as its Chief Operating Officer.

While increasing its research capacity to service an expanding client base, the PivotalPath brand better reflects the growth and institutionalism of its business. Mr. Caplis will spearhead the further development of innovative solutions, providing clients the decision advantage they need to confidently navigate the often opaque hedge fund arena.

“We are extremely pleased to appoint Jon as COO to deliver on our mission to provide independent, informative, and cost-effective hedge fund research to our expanding client base.” said Viktor Ula, CEO of PivotalPath. “We are deeply committed to expanding our research capabilities and Jon provides the experience, expertise and track record to achieve this goal,” added David Regan, Chief Research Officer.

Prior to joining PivotalPath, Mr. Caplis concluded 10 years of direct hedge fund experience, most recently at Campbell & Company, a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, where he served as co-head of the portfolio allocation and risk management team and as a member of the investment committee.

“I am excited to be appointed PivotalPath’s COO,” noted Mr. Caplis. “I look forward to playing a valuable role in leading the continued innovation of our business and ensuring that our research and advisory services are responsive to the growing needs of our clients.”
