25.03.2025 Rothschild and Co. expands GP-led secondaries team
Opalesque Industry Update - Rothschild - Co has announced that Nicolas Lanel will join the Group to support the firm's Private Capital business development throughout Europe with the origination and execution of GP-led transactions, not least continuation vehicles.

Nicolas Lanel brings more than 30 years of experience in investment banking, the last 18 of which are closely related to the emergence of the GP-led secondary space. Nicolas Lanel established and led the wider European secondary advisory franchises at UBS and Evercore, both of which achieved global leadership positions under his tenure, before founding Flow Advisors. He started his career with Paribas in Toronto, following which he spent closed to ten years as an M-A advisor with Deutsche Bank in London and New York.

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Hawley, Global Head of Private Capital at Rothschild and Co. said: "The onboarding of Nicolas Lanel is part of Rothschild and Co's continued development of our GP Solutions team which has here here here to rise to in Europe, having raised in erupted of 3.5bn across 13 transactions in 2023 and 2024."
