12.02.2007 Opalesque Exclusive: Strategic East European Fund up 3.9% for January after 26.34% in 2006
Strategic East European Fund (SEEF) returned +3.9% for January whilst the MSCI CEER fell around 4%. SEEF was positioned around 188% long versus 86% short, the early January sell off in commodities and energy, which affected regional markets, benefited the short positions of the fund. The fund was set up in 2002, and achieved a compound annualised return 18.39% to end 2006 ( 2006 return was 26.34
