Marlene Timberlake D’Adamo to head compliance monitoring and oversight program of CalPERS

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has appointed Marlene Timberlake D'Adamo as chief compliance officer (CCO) effective April 11. In a statement, CalPERS said Timberlake D'Adamo will be responsible for all aspects of the enterprise compliance program, including full responsibility for administering a comprehensive compliance monitoring and oversight program in relation to legislative and regulatory requirements and industry guidelines.

As CCO, Timberlake D'Adamo will provide oversight and guidance on compliance issues within the various program areas of the organization, advising the Board of Administration, executive and senior management staff on complex issues under the general direction of the chief financial officer, Cheryl Eason.

"Marlene brings more than 25 years of experience from the finance, investment, and legal industries with the necessary talents needed to succeed in the position," said Eason. "Our compliance and ethics programs serve as a critical role to set and implement safeguards that prevent and detect misconduct from within and outside an organization."

Timberlake D'Adamo recently held the position of managing director, senior vice president, portfolio & risk management at PNC Bank in Philadelphia. She holds a bachelor's degree from Seton Hall......................
