Chase Corporate Advisory bolsters funds management

Specialist corporate advisers Chase Corporate Advisory aims to bolster its funds management advisory practice with the appointment of Nelson Lam as director of said unit.

Lam will be tasked to capture growing demand from global funds management and the financial services sectors for M&A and related transaction services expertise, the company said in a statement.

Lam commented on his appointment, "It is a great opportunity to join a team with deep experience in the financial services and private equity sectors and continue to grow and work in an industry I am passionate about. It presents opportunities at an exciting time in the industry where many of our clients are seeking to grow or addressing succession issues and capital constraints."

He added, "In particular, I am seeing increasing client demand for global emerging markets investment capabilities with the majority of the large incumbent funds closed or at capacity. Global emerging markets make up 13% of the MSCI World Index while local fund allocations at less than 4%."

Lam was head of Investments for Ascalon Capital Managers Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westpac Banking Group and more recently held the position of Chief Operating Officer for H3 Global Advisors, a successful Australian based hedge fund which Nelson incubated and help grow in Ascalon since 2007.
