Oil prices rose by more than US$2 ahead of an anticipated production cut by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) this week, closing at $74.25 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while gold gained US$2.50 to close at $787.60 per ounce.
