The book also focuses on the rising influence of sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) on financial markets. Economists have highlighted how SWFs are focused more on national interests rather than on profits. The World Bank says, globally, the collective SWF investment will reach $10 trillion by 2013, from $3.5 trillion now. China, UAE and Saudi Arabia are the biggest investors through SWFs.
