From Bloomberg: Global lead output exceeded demand last year for the first time since 2002 and the surplus in zinc widened, according to the International Lead and Zinc Study Group. Global output of refined lead, used to make batteries, rose 7.5 percent, resulting in a surplus of 19,000 metric tons, figures on the Lisbon-based group’s Web site today show.
