17.02.2009 - Sterling falls on banking worries, G7 silence
From Reuters: Sterling fell against the dollar on Monday as concerns over Britain's Lloyds Banking Group heightened banking sector worries and after the Group of Seven finance ministers made no comment on the currency. British Finance Minister Alistair Darling said on Sunday that banks were best left in the private sector, in an effort to cool speculation that Lloyds (LLOY.L), which issued a shock warning on Friday about problems at its recently bought HVBOS arm, could be fully nationalised.....
