Sales of newly built homes in the U.S. fell slightly in August, but prices posted their largest increase since late 2004. Sales of new single-family homes decreased 0.3% last month from July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 373,000, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. July's revised rate of 374,000 homes sold was the highest since April 2010. The August results were below expectations.
