Residential property prices in the Republic increased for the second consecutive month in August sparking hopes that the market may be stabilising, although the yearly declines still remain precipitous. The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that residential house prices increased by 0.5 per cent in August compared with a 0.2 per cent rise in July. However, figures also show that prices across the State have fallen 12 per cent over the last year.
