From Independent: Mortgage lending slumped to its lowest level for more than three and a half years during September as the stagnant housing market stifled demand, figures showed today. A total of 17.7 billion was advanced during the month, 10 per cent less than during August and 42 per cent below the level for September last year, according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders. ....
