10.03.2016 - Norway sovereign fund sells Japanese government bonds
Norway's government pension fund became a seller of Japanese government bonds in the October-December quarter after having built up its holdings until September, a report by the country's central bank shows. According to Norges Bank, the fund's outstanding JGB holdings shrank 13%, or by around 430 billion yen ($3.81 billion), from the end of September to 2.76 trillion yen as of the end of last year. JGBs had accounted for 7.5% of the fund's bondholdings at the end of September, but the selling pushed the figure down to 6.5%.
