11.11.2011 - Blend public good, risk sharing in Islamic finance, urges SC
The Securities Commission (SC) of Malaysia has called for the integration of the concepts of public good and risk sharing in Islamic finance in developing products for the public. The concepts of risk sharing and public good in Islamic finance are often over-looked or perhaps under-valued, its chairman Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar said. "Risk sharing integrates risk management with value creation. The Islamic concepts of musharakah and mudarabah, for example, target value creation and are good ways of managing risk.
