It may not feel like the global economy has been significantly happier recently. Indeed, it hasn't. But emerging markets currencies have been rallying regardless. Analysts at HSBC point out that "EM currencies have seen some of their largest short-term gains since 1998," writes Katie Martin. They added: We don't rule out a further squeeze that could still propel these currencies higher.
