Oil futures rose Thursday, briefly trading above $50 a barrel for the first time since July, as the dollar weakened and traders focused on expectations of shrinking U.S. production. Concerns about Russia’s military operations in Syria also supported prices. Prices are up more than 8% on the week, as expectations of falling production and growing global demand have boosted the market.
