Oil may be the biggest victim of global supply glut, but food commodities too are in its clutches. According to the latest report by United Nations' Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO), food commodity prices are at low levels not seen in the last six-and-a-half years, having continued a nearly uninterrupted slump since April last year. The food price index of FAO saw its steepest monthly fall of 5.2% since December 2008 to 155.7 points in August, its lowest level since April 2009.
